Web Design & Development

Web design and development refers to the process of creating and maintaining websites. It involves both the  aesthetic aspects of a website, such as design, and the functional components , such as development. The two terms are often used together but focus on different areas of the process.
 Web Design
Web design relates to the visual and UX aspects of a website. It concerns the look and feel of a site, as well as the interaction that takes place on it. Some of the most basic components of web design include:
1. Layout: How the website’s content is arranged and displayed
2. Color scheme: The selection of colors to be used in the design

 3.Typography: Selection and application of fonts.

4. Graphics: Images, icons, and illustrations on the site.
5. User Interface (UI): The overall experience a person has while using the website, including buttons, menu navigation, and forms.
6. Responsive Design: Making sure that it looks good and is a pleasure to use on different devices from desks to tablets to smartphones.
A web designer will use an app like Adobe Photoshop, Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD when drafting mockups and prototypes.

Web Development
Web development is the process of building and maintaining the functionality of a website. It involves writing the code that makes the website work. Web development is divided into two main areas:
1. Front-end development (Client-side):
– Focuses on what users see and interact with in the browser.
– Uses technologies like HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), and JavaScript
– Front-end developers make a design workable and responsive; interactive and aesthetically pleasing.
2. Back-end development (Server side):
It deals behind the scenes with a server, database, and app logic.
Server-side languages are implemented, such as  PHP, Python, Ruby, Java or Node.js, and databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB– Back-end developers ensure data flows correctly between the server and the front-end, including user authentication, content management, and dynamic content generation.
Full-stack development is the term for developers who work on both the front-end and back-end.
 Key Differences
– Web Design focuses on the ok and feel of the website.
– Web Development focuses on the building and functionality of the website.
Together, web design and development form the whole process for the creation of a website–from the initial visual conception to the functioning site accessed by users.
